PRESS, “H” FRAME, HYDRAULIC,
HAND OPERATED, NON ROLL BED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to MIL-P-80261, type III, class 2, style A.
Abstract. This description covers hand operated hydraulic “H” frame presses with a non roll bed, which are used in maintenance and repair shops to press, straighten, and to assemble and disassemble parts.
Classification. The press shall be of one type and one style. The size to be furnished shall be as specified (see ordering data). The size and capacities shall conform to table I.
Salient characteristics.
1. Frame. The frame shall be of the “H” type, fabricated of steel sections. The headrail shall support the hydraulic cylinder and ram assembly.
2. Hydraulic system. The press hydraulic system shall consist of a hand operated pump, fluid reservoir, a cylinder with a ram, and the necessary fittings and hoses to ensure a complete hydraulic system. The system shall have overload protection and a means of preventing extension of the ram beyond its normal end-of-stroke position. A pressure gauge calibrated to read tons of ram force shall be provided.
