2.1 Hydraulic cylinder and ram assembly. Unless otherwise specified (see ordering data), the hydraulic cylinder and ram assembly shall be of the dual stage type, which has a high volume low pressure, allowing rapid advancement of the ram to the workplace, then switching to a low volume high pressure for a maximum pressing tonnage. The cylinder and ram assembly shall be adjustable horizontally the entire length of the headrail.
3. Siderails, headrails, and worktable. The press siderails and worktable shall be provided with matching holes for the insertion of pins for supporting and positioning the worktable. The press shall be furnished with a mechanical winch for raising or lowering the worktable or headrail, whichever is applicable. The winch shall be mounted on either the siderail or headrail.
4. Worktable. The worktable shall have the strength to withstand the working forces when the press is operated at 100 per cent of the rated capacity. The holes in the press worktable shall align with the holes in the press siderails for the insertion of pins which support the worktable.
5. Work support devices. The work support devices shall consist of not less than two steel table plates, two steel “V” blocks, one flat ram nose, and a “V” ram nose for straightening operations. If the supplier normally furnishes a single pair of insertable blocks for supporting flat workplaces using one side and when inverted, supporting bar type workpieces, the single pair of insertable blocks may be furnished.
