NOTE : Requirements are not less than those shown.
2.1 Hydraulic cylinder and ram assembly. Unless otherwise specified (see ordering data) the hydraulic cylinder and ram assembly shall be of the dual stage type, which has a high volume low pressure allowing rapid advancement of the ram to the workpiece, then switching to a low volume high pressure for maximum pressing tonnage. The cylinder and ram assembly shall be adjustable horizontally the entire length of the headrail.
3. Siderails, headrails, and worktable. The press siderails and worktable shall be provided with matching holes for the insertion of pins for supporting and positioning the worktable. The press shall be furnished with a mechanical winch for raising or lowering the worktable or headrail, whichever is applicable. The winch shall be mounted on either the siderail. Side plates of the press shall be designed to allow the worktable to be easily moved under the ram for pressing operations, then out beyond the ram and frame for unloading and loading of work pieces. The side plates shall be integral of the press frame and serve as feet or stability of the press.
4. Work support devices. The work support devices shall consist of not less than two steel table plates, two steel “V” blocks, one flat ram nose, and a “V” ram nose for straightening operations. If the supplier normally furnishes a single pair of insertable blocks for supporting flat workplaces using one side and when inverted, supporting bar type workpieces, the single pair of insertable blocks may be furnished.
Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED-STD-376, and all other requirements of this commercial item description are met.
If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request shall be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
